Hello! I’m Anna Kleiman! KleimanHouse first started when my husband Philip and I bought our first home. The home we had bought had been sadly neglected and needed a lot of updates and fixes. I am a creative gal and Philip is super handy, so we decided to tackle/design a lot of the house projects ourselves. We also needed to furnish our new house, so I started refinishing vintage furniture for our home. I’ve always loved the character and quality construction of older pieces. Soon I filled up our house with pieces, but I didn’t want to stop there! KleimanHouse as a business was born.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Austin, TX (yes, I’m proud of my unicorn status!) and have lived all over the city, from north Austin to south Austin. I grew up working in my moms creative businesses, so retail/antiques/vintage have always been in my blood. My parents fostered my creativity from a young age and for that I am truly thankful.
After I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Retail Merchandising degree, I did merchandising and visuals for Anthropologie and smaller boutiques, plant and succulent design at a high end florist, owned my own jewelry business (Anna Leigh Jewelry), and was a nanny for two awesome girls. All of these experiences helped me to form and launch KleimanHouse!
I currently reside in south Austin with my wonderful husband Philip, and Willie, our 9.5 year old Australian Shepherd/fur baby. Philip provides the muscle of lifting furniture and sometimes driving me around to pick up goodies. Philip and Willie provide very important unconditional love and support!
